At Guten Morgen Kennels, I was responsible for feeding, administering medications, maintaining clean and sanitary living spaces, documenting animal information, and monitoring animals throughout their stay. Working in a fast-paced kennel environment has strengthened my ability to multitask, communicate effectively, and maintain attention to detail while ensuring animals receive appropriate care. I have enjoyed being able to develop skills in understanding body language and dog interactions.

As part of my academic internship experience, I had the opportunity to work with the team at Last Chance Ranch, an animal rescue organization dedicated to providing care and finding homes for animals in need.

My responsibilities included assisting with daily animal care, cleaning and maintaining animal spaces, preparing meals, providing enrichment, and observing animal behavior. I also had opportunities to assist with a vaccine clinic and interact with dogs with different personalities, temperaments, and behavioral needs.

This experience allowed me to further develop my understanding of animal behavior within a shelter environment while gaining insight into the importance of enrichment, individualized care, and successful animal placement. It also strengthened my interest in animal welfare and working with animals who may require additional patience, attention, and behavioral support.

During my time at Pampered Paw Resort, I gained valuable experience working with dogs in a daycare and boarding environment. My responsibilities included supervising group play sessions, monitoring interactions between dogs, maintaining safe play environments, and providing daily care such as feeding, administering medications, and maintaining clean kennels.

I also communicated with clients regarding their dogs' behavior and experiences during their stay. Through this position, I developed a stronger understanding of canine body language, group dynamics, and the importance of recognizing behavioral cues to maintain a safe and positive environment.

This experience helped build my confidence in handling dogs with different personalities and energy levels while strengthening my communication, observation, and animal care skills.

Through several years of independent dog sitting, I have gained experience providing individualized care for dogs in their home environments. My responsibilities have included maintaining feeding schedules, providing exercise and enrichment, administering medications when needed, and ensuring each dog's daily routine and individual needs are met.

Working independently has strengthened my ability to adapt to different routines, recognize individual needs, and build trust with animals. This experience has also reinforced the importance of responsibility, honesty, and client communication.
